PERRY BRUDER, the band’s unabashed front man, journeyman rhythm guitar, and factotum, is a proud member of the second American generation of the Fuchs family, one of the world’s foremost families of classical musicians. As a kid, he studied classical piano and clarinet, and he might have gone on in that vein. But when, at the pivotal and incendiary age of twelve, he heard Roll Over Beethoven!, he forthwith and forever forsook the Fuches. He then expended a shamefully large portion of the ensuing forty-eight years in an ongoing fantasy about - and haphazard preparation for - fronting a rock & roll band. In 2004, he formed The Novations. Perry is an energy attorney when he cannot avoid it. |

SIMON SOMERS, the band’s lead guitar, grew up in NYC. He got his first axe at 16 and started playing clubs in Greenwich Village. Then he moved to California and got into the SF punk scene in the 70s. He says, “Every night I ducked ice cubes, lighted matches and bottles. It was great.” He's played in many different bands in SF and LA, even a surf band in San Diego. A couple of years ago he moved to VA and joined The Novations. Simon keeps the band tight, with pearls like, “Always play slower than you think you’re playing.” He’s got his own computer firm. And, when the Novations asked him to do their computer stuff, he replied, “You can’t afford me.” |

ROB SUKOL, who holds up the band’s bottom on bass, was founder and song writer for the great ‘70's Philly-based jazz-rock group, Changes, that had a broad regional following. He then took some unlikely paths, including a stint as “Robbie Murphy from County Slingo.” (Before then, Rob thought “Slingo” was one of The Marx Brothers.) When we’re cooking, and the crowd is up and dancing, Rob’s face tells you that he’s the guy who’s having the most fun of all. Rob is a Capital Hill attorney, incidentally. |

LARRY GRONER, of whom this is not a picture, is the band's new drummer. He's lived a true rock & roll life, having been married, at the age of over-fifty, for only the past three years. Larry also claims to be a lawyer who switched from EPA to the Pentagon. We'll be telling you more about Larry, as soon as we find out what it is. MARK SUSS, of whom this is also not a pciture, is the band's marketing and style guru. |
